"It's more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail - then you can dream all the rest around it. Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine?" -Dries Van Noten

Givenchy S/S 09/10 RTW

Givenchy S/S 09/10 Ready-to-wear show breakdown

Each year during Paris Fashion Week, there is always a show that blows minds and sets itself apart from the other contenders. This year, that show was Givenchy.

Riccardo Tisci took inspiration from sixties roman culture and created a collection that even my greatest praise is unworthy of. Tisci used digital prints matched with minimal pieces that included harem pants and low-cut jumpsuits. His first look, a jersey jacket embellished with geometric design generated a greater audience sigh that the SS 09 Balmain green sequin mini-dress could ever produce.

Givenchy's SS 2010 ready-to-wear collection is proof enough as to why Tisci has been regarded as one of the worlds design elites.
