Jet-setting nomads at Marc by Marc Jacobs spring 2013

Marc Jacobs’s spring 2013 collection may have been all about “brutal simplicity,” but his secondary line is all about fun.

All the hallmarks of the season’s biggest trends were there – boxy silhouettes, bohemian layers and mismatched prints – while additions of floral and playful denim contributed a classic, Marc by Marc Jacobs flair.

Masai-inspired scarves were worn as obi belts and head wraps, and wooden geisha slippers were paired with chunky socks. Yes, a little bizarre but it totally worked.

Oversized shirts were tucked into patchwork skirts, while prints of jaunty ginghams, pyjama stripes, and perky paisleys – sometimes all at once – made for a vibrant, youthful zest.

Road trip, anyone?
